ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY 2025

EKO Acropolis Rally is committed to the continuous improvement of its environmental sustainability performance in compliance with the National and European legislation as well as with the FIA's sustainability program and its Environmental Accreditation Framework.

Having been awarded with the 3 stars FIA Environmental Accreditation since 2022, the top management is keen in advancing the event’s environmental performance and continues “lightening” its environmental footprint with the assistance of all the stakeholders of the Rally.

We focus on minimizing and better managing the waste coming directly from the event’s operation, enhancing environmental awareness amongst the participants, volunteers, staff, spectators and contributing to the global fight against climate change, using fewer natural resources, water, energy. Thus, we are encouraging active leadership and participation of all stakeholders.

During the EKO Acropolis Rally 2024, for the first time we managed to feed our Service Park with 100% certified renewable energy thus minimizing the overall carbon footprint of the event. We will continue reducing our carbon footprint for 2025 by implementing innovative actions of this kind.

Our forests, the flora and fauna, are an important feature of the rally, thus we have to respect and protect them all together. The Organizing Committee is actively consulting with all national, regional and local authorities on environmental matters. All municipalities involved as well as the competent public services are already assisting in our efforts to reduce the environmental impact.

The Environmental Sustainability Officer is in charge to oversee the compliance with all the environmental protection measures and to ensure that we fulfill our environmental commitments.

With the development of our Environmental Management System and the utilization of an Environmental Checklist we monitor and manage any environmental impact during preparation, hosting and demobilization phase of the Rally. In the meanwhile. we communicate to all teams how they can assist and become key players in creating a more sustainable EKO Acropolis Rally..
