The EKO Acropolis Rally is back, stronger than ever, featuring new special stages, an expanded itinerary, and fresh challenges for the world’s top WRC drivers.
Returning to its traditional summer slot, the EKO Acropolis Rally will take place from June 26 to 29, 2025, serving as the seventh round of the FIA World Rally Championship. With new special stages and significantly increased competitive mileage, this year’s edition will push participants to their limits with demanding gravel terrains and high temperatures.
While the rally’s base remains in Lamia, the ceremonial start and super special stage will once again be hosted in the Attica region, specifically in Athens. This will bring the action to the heart of the Greek capital. The 2025 event will feature 17 special stages and a total of 341.43 competitive kilometers, making it the longest Acropolis Rally since 2021.
The rally’s footprint is expanding considerably as it returns to Thessaly for the first time in 30 years. The brand-new Smokovo stage, spanning 24.59 kilometers near the artificial lake of the same name, makes its debut. The rally’s itinerary now includes Stiri, a stage that incorporates parts of a historic route last used in 2001.
The competition will kick off with familiar special stages in Loutraki, Aghii Theodori, and Thiva, before moving on to the new Stiri stage and then to Elatia on the opening day. The second leg will test crews on the challenging Pavliani, Karoutes, and Inohori stages, an area known for dramatic elevation changes and varying levels of grip.
The final day of the rally presents a major challenge with the new Smokovo stage in Thessaly, while the Wolf Power Stage will take place on the legendary Tarzan stage, one of the rally’s most demanding tests, expected to play a decisive role in the final outcome.
