WRC - FINISH FLASH
Date: 29/6/2025 Flash N°: 24
Finish: Lamia
#33 Elfyn EVANS / Scott MARTIN
“We have managed to avoid troubles the whole weekend, so that’s something at least, come back in 4th place again and gain some 17 points that helped soften the blow to the performance. We definitely knew, coming to these three difficult rallies, that it was very possible to leave without the Championship lead, obviously on that side I’m pleased”.
#69 Kalle ROVANPERÄ / Jonne HALTTUNEN
“This weekend nothing was working, to be honest. I wasn't on the pace I should be, there is a lot of room for improvement, I wasn’t performing like I normally do. Obviously when you don't feel comfortable in the car, then it doesn't go well.”
#17 Sébastien OGIER / Vincent LANDAIS
“Especially on a weekend where Ott is playing at this level and we don't have any opportunities, I really come out with a big smile, because I know I did what I could - there was no room for doing more. We can be pleased with the points. The lead for the Manufacturer remains, that’s the most important for me.”
#8 Ott TÄNAK / Martin JÄRVEOJA
“It was incredibly demanding with the roughness, with the temperatures and with the length of the Rally, it was a super challenge. We are very glad to put the package together, in order to keep the tyres alive and also have a good performance at the same time. Our main goal was to manage the tyres. Obviously we did everything perfectly. We pushed in the low risk areas, and in the places with rough conditions we held back.”
#1 Thierry NEUVILLE / Martijn WYDAEGHE
“Honestly we lost the chance for a good result because of the tyre issues. It was more than some punctures for us this weekend. We have to investigate a bit deeper, I’m not the only one who has had issues. Obviously there was room for more today, but technical issues stopped us in our push for some extra points.”
#18 Takamoto KATSUTA / Aaron JOHNSTON
“Ι was happy to do it, I’m happy he got the points in the Power Stage [referring to giving his starting position to Kalle Rovanpera]. Unfortunately we couldn’t, but sometimes this happens. It’s a shame, but it happens in a very very rough rally. We knew the Rally is very tough and rough and we needed to manage the situation to avoid mistakes and punctures, but obviously it didn’t work.”
#16 Adrien FOURMAUX / Alexandre CORIA
“Good to be back. We did it well, we can be proud of it. We lost some time today, but we are in third place, some good points for the Championship and the team. That was the hardest rally, Friday was crazy with the roughness and the temperature. I was trying to stay calm and cool. I could have pushed a little bit more on Friday, but because of the heat and the road conditions it was very difficult.”
#5 Sami PAJARI / Marko SALMINEN
“It was really tricky, like the Acropolis Rally always is, one of the toughest, if not the toughest of the season. Our speed was quite good on Friday, but then we faced some technical issue, which is rare but it’s still part of the sport and can happen. Still happy that the team fixed the car and we could drive today. Good learning and happy we did some good stage times.”
#55 Joshua MCERLEAN / Eoin TREACY
“It’s been a very tough weekend inside and outside of the car, very physically demanding. But it was nice, we had some sort of rhythm.”
#22 Mārtiņš SESKS / Renārs FRANCIS
“It was quite OK if you look at a few stages - and the Power Stage as well was not so bad. There are some positives to take. Coming into a rally like this, especially the first time in a Rally1 car, then you don’t have the opportunity to take a slow start of learning and think of how to do better. The positive is that I now can understand how it should be done theoretically.”
