#33 Elfyn EVANS / Scott MARTIN
“With the road sweeping as they were, we knew it wouldn’t be easy. Of course we are happy that we stayed out of trouble and we are still here, but obviously many crews had issues and it will be tough to get to the end of the weekend without any issues.”
#69 Kalle ROVANPERÄ / Jonne HALTTUNEN
“It was quite tricky when we had some problems in the morning. I did what I could. Unfortunately we lost a starting place with the puncture, quite important for tomorrow. On the last stage I tried to push, but obviously the road was cleaning a lot.”
#17 Sébastien OGIER / Vincent LANDAIS
“Being where we are, I think it’s really good. Of course we always want better. But the reality is this. I did miracles in some stages, but I can't do miracles the whole day. However, it’s just the beginning of the Rally. Don’t try to make any stories out of my answer on the last stage.”
#8 Ott TÄNAK / Martin JÄRVEOJA
“It was super demanding, at times it was difficult to keep everything in one piece. We must be happy that we didn't have any big problems with the tyres or with the car. ”
#1 Thierry NEUVILLE / Martijn WYDAEGHE
“It’ been a bad day for us honestly, we were hit by a hammer twice and it’s difficult to stand up after that. We lost 2:40 over the day and we are 2:38 behind the leader, so you don't have to be that good in math to know who would lead the Rally today. But that’s what it is.”
#18 Takamoto KATSUTA / Aaron JOHNSTON
“We knew that something could happen after the puncture. We tried to avoid another puncture, but we tried to use the advantage of the starting position to gain positions. It is a disaster, but it could be worse. Our starting position tomorrow is quite OK. We will be focused on pushing and avoiding punctures.”
#16 Adrien FOURMAUX / Alexandre CORIA
“I think we deserved to be leading tonight. I think we need to get some time back with the dust issue, I don't know why it takes so much time. It was a good day for us, we were managing well on the rocky places and we were pushing when the road was a little more clean. I’m quite happy.”
#13 Grégoire MUNSTER / Louis LOUKA
“It was really tricky with the heat, but we feel quite OK with the conditions and with the car, so that’s good. It is a very demanding event, with rough conditions. So far the car is holding. He had two punctures, but we managed to get through without having to change the tyres midstage, so it’s good. We’ll keep the same strategy tomorrow.”
#55 Joshua MCERLEAN / Eoin TREACY
“The heat was one thing, but we had some punctures and it’s been tricky. We are here and everything can happen. Tomorrow is a big day, a lot of miles.”
#22 Mārtiņš SESKS / Renārs FRANCIS
“We had a leakage from the fuel tank and it wasn't safe to continue with this heat. We’ll probably change the fuel tank and continue tomorrow.”
#9 Jourdan SERDERIDIS / Frédéric MICLOTTE
“Very long day, very tiring, very hot. We avoided mistakes, we avoided punctures and I think we are 28th overall, which is not so bad. We will try to recover for tomorrow. We will try to do our best and avoid punctures.”
