WRC CHAMPIONSHIPS

WRC is the main championship, but there are also support championships: WRC2 and WRC3. Junior WRC is contested on selected events of the FIA World Rally Championship calendar.

WRC
The FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) pits drivers, co-drivers and hybrid-powered production-based cars against some of the most tough and unforgiving terrain on the planet. Established in 1973, the WRC is an epic battle against the elements and the clock. It is spread across 13 rallies, covering five continents and 13 countries. Man and machine must master everything from snow-packed forest tracks in intense cold, to rock-strewn mountain passes in blistering heat. The WRC is divided into the Drivers', Co-Drivers' and the Manufacturers' Championship.

WRC2
WRC2 is the leading support series (Manufacturer) to the FIA World Rally Championship. The WRC2 Champion titles for Teams, Drivers and Co-Drivers will be awarded to the team, driver and co-driver who have scored the highest number of points from 6 of the first 7 rallies which they have entered to score points. On the remaining rallies they may neither score nor detract points from other registered drivers.

WRC3
WRC3 is the support series (Private Teams) to the FIA World Rally Championship. The WRC3 Champion titles for Teams, Drivers and Co-Drivers will be awarded to the team, driver and co-driver who have scored the highest number of points from 6 of the first 7 rallies which they have entered to score points. On the remaining rallies they may neither score nor detract points from other registered drivers.

JUNIOR WRC
Junior WRC is the championship for young rally drivers, picking the right career path to accelerate their chances of reaching the sport’s top level. There are tens - if not hundreds - of series that cater towards up-and-coming talent at regional, national and international level. At the top of that tree, though, is the FIA Junior WRC - the championship that has given drivers like Sébastien Loeb, Sébastien Ogier, Elfyn Evans and Thierry Neuville a foot in the door to go on to bigger things. In fact, graduates from the FIA Junior WRC have combined to produce more than 460 WRC podiums and 185 WRC victories.
