EKO Acropolis Rally 2026
The EKO Acropolis Rally is set to return from June 25 to 28, marking another chapter in its 73-year history.
As Round 8 of the FIA World Rally Championship, the EKO Acropolis Rally 2026 combines the legendary toughness of the “Rally of Gods” with a refreshed event concept. With Loutraki as the rally hub, a Super Special Stage at The Ellinikon Sports Park, a sea transfer for crews, and special stages stretching from Central Greece to the Peloponnese, the EKO Acropolis Rally 2026 showcases Greece's diverse facets in a unique competitive setting.
Featuring 58 crews from around the world, 12 Rally1 cars, and some of the biggest names in the WRC on the starting line, Greece is set to host one of the most demanding and iconic events on the championship calendar.
A New Identity
The rally will get underway at 19:05 on Thursday, 25 June, with the EKO Super Special Stage at The Ellinikon Sports Park.
The 1.86 km parallel-format asphalt stage will provide the first competitive action of the rally and one of the images that will be broadcast around the world through the event’s global television coverage.
Immediately after the stage, the crews will depart from the Port of Corinth aboard the Superfast IV, bound for Itea. The sea transfer reintroduces Greece’s maritime element into the event’s structure after more than three decades and is one of the distinctive features of this year’s edition.
After the Super Special Stage in Attica, competitors face three more days of intense action across 16 special stages located in:
- Central Greece: Bauxites, Parnassos Mt., Stiri, Elikonas Mt. and Thiva
- Peloponnese: Ghymno, Kolines, Menalo Mt., Kefalari, Aghii Theodori (partly extending into Attica) and Loutraki
The inclusion of the new stages Kollines and Menalo Mt. also marks the return of Arcadia region to the Acropolis Rally route for the first time in almost four decades.
World-Class Entry List
With 57 crews (Vasilakis-Harryman won’t start), the EKO Acropolis Rally 2026 brings together all the leading contenders of the FIA World Rally Championship.
A total of 12 Rally1 cars will start the event, representing the largest top-category entry seen in the WRC so far this season.
- Toyota Gazoo Racing enters five GR Yaris Rally1 cars (Evans, Katsuta, Solberg, Pajari, Ogier)
- Hyundai Shell Mobis World Rally Team fields three Hyundai i20 N Rally1 cars (Fourmaux, Neuville, Sordo)
- M-Sport Ford World Rally Team enters four Ford Puma Rally1 cars (Armstrong, McErlean, Sesks, Serderidis)
Action Across Every Category
The entry list also features 34 Rally2 cars and some of the championship’s most notable names, including Yohan Rossel, Leo Rossel, Roope Korhonen, Andreas Mikkelsen and Gus Greensmith.
Particular interest surrounds the return of Lancia to the Acropolis Rally for the first time since 1993, marking the Italian manufacturer’s comeback to the Greek stages.
A Global Championship Event with a Distinct Greek Signature
Since its inception in 1953, the Acropolis Rally has ranked among the most historic and recognisable events in the FIA World Rally Championship.
This year’s edition highlights a different side of Greece. From the contemporary urban setting of The Ellinikon and the shores of the Corinthian Gulf to the mountains of Arcadia, Phocis and Phthiotis, the EKO Acropolis Rally connects landscapes and locations that will be showcased to millions of viewers around the world.
